What is SOLIDWORKS World?

For the next generation of makers, doers, and innovators who want to create things that make a difference, SOLIDWORKS World is a collective experience that inspires and activates their capacity to bring to life ideas that change the world.

When is the event?

The conference is Sunday February 10, 2019 through Wednesday February 13, 2019.

Where is the event?

All main conference activities will take place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center (650 S Griffin St, Dallas, TX 75202).

Where can I find some more detailed information on the conference activities?

You can find information on our conference agenda on our conference website.

Will there be shuttles from hotels to the conference?

No, the hotels are all within a 5-10 minute walking distance.

When and where is the Special Event?

The Special Event is at Gilley’s on Tuesday, February 12th from 7-10pm. It is open for all full conference pass holders, as well as those Expo Only, Tuesday, and Booth Staff attendees who purchased the Special Event add-on. You must have your badge and government issued ID in order to attend the Special Event – there will be no exceptions.

Are there shuttles to the Special Event?

Shuttle service will be provided for the Special Event at Gilley’s Dallas. Shuttle departures will be available at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center lower level from 7:00-8:30pm. Return shuttles from Gilley’s will run from 8:30-10:30pm and will stop at all hotels in the SOLIDWORKS World hotel block. Hotels on the return shuttle route are Omni Dallas Hotel, Hotel Lorenzo, Magnolia Hotel, Aloft Dallas Downtown, Westin Dallas Downtown, and Hyatt Regency Dallas. Last shuttle departure from Gilley’s is 10:15pm.

Whom can I contact for requesting auxiliary aids and services or dietary needs?

There is a section on the conference registration form for accessibility requirements. Please indicate “yes” in this section upon registering and someone will be in contact with you.

Do you have any information on Dallas so I can plan my trip?

Yes, Visit Dallas will have a table set up in our registration area to answer any of your questions on Dallas. You can also visit their website here.

Agenda and Breakout Sessions

What types of breakout sessions can I expect?

There are over 260 breakout sessions of all different topics and skill levels – there really is something for everyone! This year’s breakout session categories range from ECAD and MCAD to Visualization, Simulation, and a whole lot more! Check out more information on the agenda here.

How can I see the list of breakout sessions?

The breakout session agenda is located here. It is also linked from the SOLIDWORKS World conference website.

How can I register for the breakout sessions?

In order to add sessions to your agenda, you must have registered for the conference. You can register for breakout sessions by logging into the Connect site with your SOLIDWORKS World username and password.

Are there waitlists for the sessions if they are full?

Yes, we will have a waitlist of 10 people for all sessions that reach capacity. We will inform you if you have been removed from the waitlist and added to the session.

I am having a technical problem and cannot register for a session. Who can I contact with questions?

Are the conference sessions recorded?

Yes, all of the user sessions are recorded and are available (along with the presentation documents) after the conference ends.

Where can I find the recorded sessions?

The recorded sessions will be available on the Connect site. We will send out a communication to all attendees when they are available.

When will the recorded sessions be available?

We will have the recordings available on the Connect Site a few weeks after the close of the event.

How do I use a discount code?

You can input your discount code at the end of the registration process on the ‘Review and Payment’ page.

Can I bring a guest?

We would love to have your guest join us at SOLIDWORKS World 2019. Full Conference, Educator, Student, and Reseller attendees can all bring a guest for an additional $250.00 fee. The guest pass includes the same admittance as an Expo Only pass. If you would like for your guest to join you at our special event the rate is $450.00.

Is there a discount when you purchase passes for a group?

The pricing is outlined on our registration details page. If you would like to purchase more than 3 passes, you can contact our registration team at solidworksreg@itnint.com.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation requests must be received in writing from the original attendee or credit card payer and received on or before 5:00PM EST, January 10, 2019 in order to receive any refund of fees. Each conference cancellation request will be subject to a $200 service charge, which shall be deducted from any amounts refunded. Cancellation requests received after 5:00PM EST, January 10, 2019 or no shows at SOLIDWORKS World are not entitled to any refund of fees.

How can I request an invitation letter for a visa?

During the registration process when entering your contact details, you will have the opportunity to indicate if you require a visa letter. You will be required to enter your passport number and contact details.

How do I register for the Sunday events (CAD Manager’s Boot Camp, Certification Exams, or Application Engineer Workshop)?

During your registration process based on your registration type you can register to attend Sunday’s events, including CAD Manager’s Boot Camp, Certification Exams, and Application Engineer Workshop (resellers only).

Where can I watch the livestream?

You can watch the livestream right on the conference website, as well as on the SOLIDWORKS YouTube and Facebook channels. Be sure to add the calendar invites so you don’t miss it!

What will be streamed?

We will be live streaming the General Sessions, a few breakout sessions, and glimpse into many other aspects of the conference. We have a full agenda for you, so be sure to tune in.

Can I watch the livestream content on-demand after the event?

Yes, all of the General Sessions and the YouTube Live sessions will be available after the event. You can view everything here.

At SOLIDWORKS World

What are the badge pickup hours and location?

Registration is located within the Hall D Lobby at the Kay Bailey Huchison Convention Center. For your reference, this location is very close to where the Omni Hotel and the Convention Center meet.

Registration hours are as follows:

  • Sunday, February 10th from 7:00AM – 7:00PM
  • Monday, February 11th from 7:00AM – 7:00PM
  • Tuesday, February 12th from 7:00AM – 7:00PM
  • Wednesday, February 13th from 7:00AM – 2:30PM
Will meals be provided?

Yes, Full Conference registration includes both breakfast and lunch. Also, there are evening receptions on Sunday and Monday night, and a Special Event on Tuesday. Expo Only passes do not have admittance into the meal hall.

What is the recommended attire for the conference?

We recommend that you dress business casual.

Will you provide a program guide upon registering?

Yes, you will receive a program guide listing all of the conference activities and breakout session schedules. However, rooms and timing may change. For the most up-to-date information on the conference schedule, please download and refer to the mobile app.

What is the CAD Manager’s Boot Camp and how do I register?

You can find details on the CAD Manager’s Boot Camp here. Registration for this event is within the conference registration system.

How do I register to take a complimentary certification exam?

You can register to take a certification exam within the registration system. There are two exam slots available – 10am-2pm and 3pm-7pm. If there isn’t a time listed, the exam slots are completely filled. If you aren’t able to take an exam onsite, you will also be provided a voucher to take the exam at another time during the 2019 calendar year.

Accommodations

Do you have discounted hotel rooms available for conference attendees?

Yes, we have contracted with specific hotels near the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. A full list of hotels and details are located here. Be sure to book your hotel accommodations before the cut-off date of January 17th in order to get the conference rate. You must book your hotel through the hotel reservation portal in order to get the special rate. After January 17th, hotel rooms will be available at the hotel rate.

Who do I contact with changes to my hotel reservation?

If you have problems with your reservation, you may call Customer Service toll free at 800-967-8852 (International registrants, please call 847-996-5832) or else you can e-mail Customer Service at sww2019@experient-inc.com. If you need to change your hotel reservation after the cut-off date of January 17th, you must contact the hotel directly.
